This article provides information on how to create a dynamic ads campaign for Snapchat.
Limitations
Due to Snapchat limitations, you cannot use the ad formats AR Lenses and Filters for dynamic ads.

Create a dynamic ads campaign
In your dynamic ads campaign, use the settings below that are specific to dynamic ads.
For information on the rest of the settings and the basic steps on how to create a Snapchat campaign and the ad sets and ads in it, see how to create Snapchat campaigns.
ℹ Note: The available settings depend on what selections you have made in previous settings. For example, some ad settings are only available for some ad formats, and your ad set's optimization goal may also limit which ad formats you can use.
Campaign settings
- Enable Dynamic Ads with the toggle.
- In Select Catalog, select a catalog.
- In Campaign Objective, select Catalog Sales as your campaign objective (this is automatically selected when you enable dynamic ads).
Ad set settings
- In Campaigns, only select dynamic ads campaigns.
- In Products, select which products you want to promote:
- To promote all products in the catalog, select All Products.
- If your catalog has product sets you want to promote, select a product set.
- In Product Audience:
- Select whether you're aiming to do a prospecting or a retargeting campaign.
- For retargeting, also select the retargeting condition.
Ad settings
- In Ad sets, only select ad sets in dynamic ads campaigns.
- If you're creating dynamic Story Ads, the Story Snaps will be created based on your catalog's products.
- In Attachment, select the attachment for the ad and define the CTA.
- Image Template: To automatically generate the ad media based on a template and the catalog, either select a Smartly.io Image Template, or click
above the field to use a Snapchat Dynamic Template created in Snapchat Ads Manager.
- URL Tracking Parameters: Define the URL parameters for UTM tracking to ensure that you are tracking clicks on your ads correctly.
- You can use the Snapchat native macros: {{campaign.name}}, {{adSet.name}}, {{campaign.id}}, {{adSet.id}}, {{ad.id}}. See more information on the URL macros in Snapchat's help.
- In Discover Tile, you can use images from your catalog for the ad's Discover tile instead of using a static image. In this case, the Image Template you selected for the ad is automatically applied.
- In First Snap, you can enable showing a first Story Snap with custom (static) content before the catalog-based Story Snaps are shown.

First, make sure that the catalog contains Image Templates, and that the catalog is connected in the ad account settings.
