To create a new campaign or to add new ads to an existing campaign with an app install or deeplink attachment, you must do the application setup in Snapchat Business Manager, under Business > Apps.
ℹ Note: It's important that you add the iOS App ID or the Android App URL to the application configuration. It's used later in Smartly.io to automatically configure campaign tracking and ad properties.

Define the application when creating a campaign
When you're creating a new campaign with app install or deeplink attachments, select the correct application in the Application section in the campaign details.
If the application you want is not available there, this can be caused by two separate issues:
- The application is not configured in Snapchat Business Manager.
- The user who has authorized the ad account in Smartly.io doesn't have Organization Admin level rights for the Snapchat Organization. Check the user in the ad account settings.
The selected application is used for tracking the conversions from the campaign and for setting up the campaign for ads that to which application the traffic is directed into.
Application information when adding ads
When you're adding ads, the application information is read from the campaign. This ensures that the ads direct the traffic to the same app that the campaign is tracking.
You can see the application information in the Attachment section in the ad details.
If the application is not found when you're adding an ad, an error message is shown instead.
There are two possible reasons why the application cannot be found:
- The campaign doesn't track any application.
- When creating a new campaign, select the app to track in the campaign details.
- With an existing campaign, either choose another campaign that is tracking an application or add a new ad that has a correct application setting from Snapchat Ads Manager to the selected campaign (this adds app tracking information to the campaign).
- The application that the campaign is tracking cannot be found in Snapchat Business Manager:
- The application is not configured in Snapchat Business Manager.
- In Snapchat Business Manager, the application is not configured to be visible for the ad account where the campaign is being created.
